Earlier this month, the NFL announced that next season will include the league’s first-ever game in Germany.
The game will take place in Munich at the home stadium of soccer club Bayern Munich. But the teams involved in the game were not included in the original announcement.
Friday, we learned that it will be considered a “home game” for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to Ben Fischer of Sports Business Journal. It is still unknown who their opponent will be.
The teams on the Buccaneers’ upcoming 2022 home schedule include the Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers, Cincinnati Bengals, Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints, and Seattle Seahawks.
These reports have led to many fans speculating on who will be the Buccaneers’ opponents for the historic game next season.

Felt like it was going to be Bucs vs Panthers in Germany since the league announced a game there this year. https://t.co/QgOvItpsoi

This is the first of many games that are set to take place in Germany, with the league’s international deal running between 2022-2025. For that duration, there will be a game every year in the country.
The Buccaneers are notably one of the teams that staked a claim for marketing rights in Germany, so it makes sense that they would be the team to play one of their home games overseas.
