New York Giants star Saquon Barkley had to be helped off the field late in the game Sunday after suffering an apparent ankle injury.
The Pro Bowl running back suffered the injury with just more than a minute remaining after being tackled on a two-yard run up the middle.
Giants fans saw the team’s season flash before their eyes as Giants trainers helped him hobble off the field.

Two plays after Barkley’s injury, the Giants kicked a field goal to cap a 31-28 win against the Arizona Cardinals, after rallying from a 20-0 halftime deficit.
Barkley played a huge role in that comeback, finishing with 92 total yards and two touchdowns. It’s hard to imagine this Giants offense without Barkley in the bell cow role.
Fans quickly reacted to the Barkley news.
This may end up being the story of the Giants game, though.

Saquon Barkley had a high ankle sprain in 2019. The fear is that happened again on that play. But wait for more news and video analysis post-game.

Seeing Saquon Barkley get hurt when he wanted a new contract is just sad to see. This is exactly why he held out, yet they paid everybody else. The running back position in the NFL might need to be addressed soon honestly cause i think more and more teams are going to abuse this.

MASSIVE COMEBACK WIN! The only concern is Saquon Barkley being injured. He IS our running game. A big blow losing him, especially with Thursday’s game around the corner with the 49ers. Will be a rough game for us.

I’m thinking it’s a high ankle sprain for #SaquonBarkley looking at 4-6 weeks. Also concerning that this is the same ankle/“unhappy triad” right knee as last time.
