The New York Giants have been a complete mess to start the season, looking like a shell of the team that made the postseason last year. They have been particularly bad in the first half this year, and Monday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks was much of the same.

It seems very clear that the Giants offense is desperately missing star running back Saquon Barkley. That paired with some extremely inconsistent play from quarterback Daniel Jones, and you have a struggling football team on your hands.

Jones was able to find some success through the air in the first half on Monday, throwing for 121 yards while completing 14 of 17 pass attempts. However, he was responsible for a very costly fumble after being sacked by Seahawks pass rusher Mario Edwards.

This would directly lead to the Seahawks taking an early lead on a touchdown pass to DK Metcalf.

The Giants’ defense also had their faults in the first half, missing a number of tackles on Seahawks tight end Noah Fant that resulted in a 52-yard gain. Seattle would also score a touchdown on this drive.

The Giants would go into the half trailing 14-3, which continues a troubling trend of poor play in the first half that has greatly cost them this season. Through four games on the year, the Giants have been outscored in the first half 77-9.

This is obviously a laughable stat, and fans took to social media to rip the Giants for just how bad they have truly been.

If the Giants want to have any chance to potentially turn their season around, they will certainly need to be much better early on in games. And if that doesn’t happen, Giants fans will likely be headed for a very rough year.
