At this point in the season, the Jacksonville Jaguars likely would have hoped to be making a strong push toward the postseason. But unfortunately, that push looks a lot more like a limp.

The Jaguars have now lost four consecutive games and are on the verge of potentially missing out on the playoffs entirely. Amid these struggles, head coach Doug Pederson addressed what he sees as the problem with the team: tackling and protecting the ball.

“Everybody wants to point the finger somewhere,” Pederson said according to the Jacksonville Jaguars team website. “We have to do a better job at taking care of the football. It’s not about the plays. We have to tackle better and we have to take care of the football, bottom line. We do those two things, those give us a chance to win football games. If we don’t, then we’re going to be talking about this again. Those are the glaring differences right now between winning and losing.”

The Jaguars have a chance to bounce back this week with a game against the Carolina Panthers, who have the worst record in the league. We’ll have to see if they can get back in the win column.
