During the 2022 NFL season, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts had a breakout year, emerging as a legitimate MVP candidate and helping lead his team to a Super Bowl appearance against the Kansas City Chiefs. As a result, one of his teammates thinks he’s proven that he should be considered one of the top few quarterbacks in the league.

During a recent appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast, Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert claimed that Jalen Hurts is “in the top two” of quarterbacks in the entire league.

“I think Jalen has to be at the top,” Goedert said on the podcast according to NFL.com. “If you don’t, you’re just trying to use his name. You can say he’s got good talent around him. No, he’s a dog. He’s really good. I think he should be top three, top two. It’s hard to take anything away from Patrick (Mahomes). You go down that list and there’s probably 10 quarterbacks that could be in the top five. Depends on what fan base you are. But personally speaking, Jalen is in the top two.”

It’s certainly a bold claim given some of the other quarterbacks in the league, but it’s hard to knock Goedert for sticking with his teammate.
