The Detroit Lions are currently in first place in the NFC North with a 6-2 record thanks to strong play on both sides of the ball. But as the team gears up for the second half of the season, it sounds like quarterback Jared Goff is still expecting improvement from his team.

During a press conference this week, Jared Goff sent a clear message to his team when he revealed that while he’s happy with the results so far, he still thinks there’s room for improvement on both sides of the ball.

“I think there’s a lot of meat on the bone, both for offense and defense,” Goff said, via the team’s website. “I’m sure they’d say the same thing that where we feel like maybe the Carolina game was a complete game, but other than that, I don’t know if we’ve really had one. And how do we get closer to that as the season comes to an end, and no reason to not start this week and try to put together a complete game this week as well.”

The Lions haven’t made it to the postseason since 2016. We’ll have to see if they can continue to improve on both sides of the ball and clinch a playoff berth.
