Detroit Lions star quarterback Jared Goff had a particularly strong performance to lead the Detroit Lions to victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week, and the veteran quarterback is getting properly acknowledged for that dominant showing.

This week, the NFL announced that Jared Goff had been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his dominant showing in the win over the Buccaneers this weekend.

In Sunday afternoon’s victory, Goff went 30 for 44 passing through the air for 353 yards with two touchdowns with an impressive passer rating of 107.5. And perhaps most importantly, Goff protected the football, throwing no interceptions during the 20-6 victory over Tampa Bay.

It’s some pretty notable recognition after an impressive game from the veteran quarterback, and the NFL world had a lot to say about the announcement on social media as a result.

So far this season, Goff has been playing arguably the best football of his entire career, completing  69.5 percent of his passes with a passer rating of 105.1 so far this season, both of which are career highs.

We’ll have to see if he can continue this trend of strong performances and lead the Lions to the playoffs this season after the team narrowly missed out on a postseason bid last year.
