The Detroit Lions fanbase had waited three decades to experience a home playoff game. And when it came to creating a home-field advantage for Sunday night’s game against the Los Angeles Rams, they sure did not disappoint.

Following the Lions’ 24-23 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, night Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff had some high praise for the environment the Lions fans in attendance created during the game, saying it was unlike anything he had ever experienced before.

“It was pretty unbelievable,” Goff said according to the Detroit Lions official team website. “The people here are pretty special, man. I’m grateful for their support and today with the circumstances that were there it meant a lot and it was special. . . . It made me feel pretty good. It was exciting. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced anything like that.”

The Lions were playing against the Rams, led by longtime Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford, who left the team in 2021 by way of a trade with the Los Angeles Rams. He did not exactly get a warm welcome from the Detroit faithful as they booed their former quarterback. Meanwhile, they gave plenty of support for Goff and their home team.
