The New York Jets have had a busy offseason, adding big names such as Aaron Rodgers and Dalvin Cook, but as the old adage goes, football games are won in the trenches.
The Jets allowed 2.5 sacks per game last season, 20th in the NFL. Have they done enough on the offensive line, or do they still need more help? After all, having Rodgers won’t make a difference if they aren’t able to protect him.
Two-time All-Pro offensive tackle Jason Peters was a guest on Good Morning Football on Tuesday and is more than willing to join Rodgers and the Jets and provide some help, wherever he’s needed, saying “They give me the call, I’m gonna show up and show out. That’s what I do. I’m a straight professional when it comes to that. Helping the young guys- if they want me to sit, you know I’ll sit.”

Peters is 41 years old but has continued to play at an effective level. After spending the first four seasons of his career with the Bills, Peters was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles prior to the 2009 season, where he found tremendous success, being named an All-Pro twice, winning Super Bowl LII with Philadelphia, and being one of four tackles named to the NFL’s 2010s All-Decade Team
After leaving Philadelphia after the 2020 season, Peters spent a year each with the Bears and Cowboys.
