It’s fair to say that Dallas Cowboys billionaire owner Jerry Jones gets a lot more publicity than any other owner, and part of that is due to his very hands-on approach to running his NFL football team. That was on full display in a story Jones recently shared.
According to a Tweet from Michael David Smith, Jones admitted during a radio show that he once made Cowboys head coach Barry Switzer change his pass protection scheme in the middle of a game because he was worried that star quarterback Troy Aikman could get hurt.

While it’s certainly an unconventional approach to owning a team, Jones doesn’t hide his inclination to get involved with team matters. After all, Jones is also the general manager of the team, not just the owner.
Still, it’s unlikely many coaches would enjoy the owner of the team making demands about the game plan during the middle of a game, so Jones’ antics are definitely unique.
