The highly anticipated Monday Night Football matchup between the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills will surely be fireworks with two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL facing off. Unfortunately, Mother Nature has already impacted the enjoyment of the game for fans attending the game.

Both the Jets and the Bills come into the season as consensus contenders in the AFC, which brought a huge turnout of fans at MetLife Stadium.

But things have not gotten off to a good start for fans attending the game. ESPN’s Adam Schefter posted a video of the stadium three hours before kickoff, showing some very dark skies in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Things even got so bad that a warning was issued to tailgating fans around the stadium, telling them to seek shelter inside their vehicles or at a local retail complex.

Fans took to social media to offer their opinions on what could be an ugly game for both teams.

We saw exactly how hazardous weather affected teams in this very stadium on Sunday Night Football when the Dallas Cowboys took on the New York Giants in Week 1. The Cowboys completely dominated the Giants en route to a 40-0 victory as rain poured down for the majority of the night.

There is some positive news regarding the weather throughout the actual game, though. Reports now suggest that the weather is actually supposed to clear up around kickoff.

That being said, it remains to be seen how well the stadium will hold up to all the rain that has come down in the area in recent days. It is certainly possible that the field could be slick, but it looks like either way this game will be taking place without any delays.
