Without star quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo leading the way, the Las Vegas Raiders really struggled on offense this week. And unfortunately for them, there’s no clear answer on whether or not he’ll be able to return to the team this week, either.

During his press conference on Monday, Las Vegas Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels was asked how close Jimmy Garoppolo is to returning from his injury. While McDaniels said that he is “hoping” that Garoppolo will be back with the team this week, it doesn’t sound like he has much information to share.

“That’s a medical thing,” McDaniels said on Monday according to Pro Football Talk. “I wouldn’t be able to put a percentage on that. I know he’s doing well, but that’s something they’ll let us know when it’s turned a corner. I’m hoping for this week, but I don’t have clarification yet.”

It would obviously be pretty bad news for the Raiders if Garoppolo could not return this week given how much the team struggled without him, and the NFL world had a lot to say about this latest update.

Without Garoppolo last week, the Raiders started veteran quarterback Brian Hoyer, who was ultimately benched for rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell.
