The Las Vegas Raiders were expected to officially introduce newly-signed quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to the media on Thursday. That didn’t go to plan, as they pushed back his press conference.

This created speculation about a potential issue with his physical, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

The press conference was pushed back to Friday over two hours after it was originally supposed to start on Thursday. At the time, there was no reasoning given for the decision.

Jimmy Garoppolo is no stranger to injury concerns. He notably missed the second half of the season last year after breaking his foot. This is on top of shoulder surgery he underwent last offseason. Many did not see this postponement of his press conference as a positive sign.

However, it seems like there are no issues regarding his physical. According to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, a person “with knowledge of the situation” indicated that “everything should be fine” and that an update could come from the Raiders on Friday.

While the two agreed to terms on a deal on Monday, the deal has not been made official just yet. This situation has obviously raised suspicion about Garoppolo’s future in Las Vegas.

Garoppolo’s health is obviously massive for the future of the Raiders. It is at the very least a great sign that everything is expected to be fine. Hopefully he will be introduced to the media without any hiccups on Friday so the team can move forward in the post-Derek Carr era.
