The Baltimore Ravens spent much of the past few seasons dealing with a contract dispute surrounding star quarterback Lamar Jackson, and just as they got that difficult situation figured out a few months ago, it seems like they have another concerning contract situation with a star player.

Baltimore Ravens star running back J.K. Dobbins reported to the team’s mandatory minicamp in June to avoid a fine, but he has yet to actually participate in practice. And this week, teammate Melvin Gordon revealed that it’s because Dobbins is sitting out, presumably in search of a new contract and a pay raise.

“I didn’t even know he’s sitting out, but J.K. is sitting out,” Gordon said during an interview with Kyle Goon of The Baltimore Banner, according to Pro Football Talk. “They’re not even making a big headline out of it, unless you’re in Indy [where Jonathan Taylor is sitting out], I guess. And they got other players sitting out. I didn’t even know J.K. was sitting out until I came here.”

Dobbins is in the last year of his rookie contract which is set to pay him a base salary of $1.391 million. But it seems he’s going to hold out in hopes of getting a new deal before the season.
