On Thursday afternoon, the Cincinnati Bengals were hit with a pretty concerning situation when star quarterback Joe Burrow went down with what appeared to be a leg injury and needed to be carted off the field. And shortly after the incident, head coach Zac Taylor met with the media where he discussed the injury.

Zac Taylor didn’t have much to say about the injury as it happened just moments before his press conference, but he did provide some updates and discussed how the team typically handles injuries like this.

“His calf,” Taylor said. “It was 10 minutes ago so we don’t have any more information than that.”

A reporter noted that Burrow appeared to be wearing some sort of brace on his right leg, asking Taylor about it.

“He did it today,” Taylor said of the brace. “We’ll get more information on that as we go.”

Taylor was then asked what his message to the team would be after an injury like this, but he declined to go too in-depth given that he did not know the extent of the injury yet.

“We don’t have any information yet, so I’m not going to have a message ready until we get more information,” Taylor said. “This is football. Guys go down with injuries that maybe isn’t anything. We don’t message to the team after every single person goes down.”

Taylor noted that there were plenty of other players that were banged up and playing limited reps, but he didn’t need to address those injuries either.

“That’s just part of playing football.”
