Earlier this month, legendary Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway officially retired from his role as the team’s general manager when his contract expired. He’s since made it very clear that he has no intention of pursuing another career in the NFL, but he does have one somewhat surprising goal in retirement: to be in a Western movie.

During an interview with Woody Paige of the Denver Gazette this week, John Elway said he is walking away from football for good, saying “I don’t have that desire to climb another mountain again.” But he did reveal one thing he would like to do now that he’s retired: be a villain in a Western movie.

Elway acknowledged that cowboy movies are few and far between these days, but there’s a chance he could make a cameo in the popular Yellowstone television series.

“I still would like to be in a cowboy movie, but I’m a bit old,” Elway said. “They aren’t making many Westerns anymore. Maybe I’ll call Kevin Costner and get a part in Yellowstone TV series.”

We’ll have to see if Elway ever gets his opportunity. It’s safe to say that it would be entertaining for NFL fans if he did.
