When the Cincinnati Bengals signed left tackle Orlando Brown Jr., the team planned to move former left tackle Jonah Williams to right tackle this season. Williams, however, was not exactly a fan of that plan and immediately requested a trade from the team. But it sounds like he’s finally coming around to the idea.

After several months, Jonah Williams has still not been traded and it seems unlikely he’ll be traded before the starter of the 2023 season. As a result, it’s clear that he’s had to come to terms with the idea of playing right tackle instead of left tackle – but he’s now at least willing to do it.

During an interview this week, Williams pointed out the challenge of “re-learning everything for the other side of your body,” but that said that he’s confident he’s “going to crush it” this season. He claims that he is now “stoked” about the move, expressing love for everyone involved with the organization.

“I’ll be happy to be a contributor on a team where I have so many great teammates,” Williams said according to the Cincinnati Bengals team website. “l love everyone in the room, love the coaches, love the fans. I’m stoked.”

Obviously, it’s quite a change in mentality for Williams in a short time. We’ll have to see how long this lasts and whether or not he will be able to successfully make the switch to right tackle.
