Things are going from bad to worse for the Washington Commanders.

After scoring just seven points in Sunday’s 14-7 loss to the New York Giants, defensive tackle Jonathan Allen sounded off.

When asked if he was frustrated with how things have been going, Allen had an explosive response, saying, “I’m ****** tired of this ****. I’m ******* tired of this ********. It’s been seven ******* years of the same ****. I’m tired of this ****.”

It’s easy to see where Allen’s frustrations stem from. The Commanders dropped to 3-4 on the season with Sunday’s loss, and two of the losses were to the Giants and Bears, who have combined for just four wins total this season.

Since drafting Allen in 2017, Washington has failed to finish a season over .500. The closest they came was last season when the Commanders finished 8-8-1. Their 7-9 record in the 2020 season landed Washington a playoff appearance, where they promptly fell 31-23 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card Game.

Allen signed a four-year contract extension prior to the 2022 season and isn’t a free agent until 2026 at the earliest. He carries a large cap hit which makes it tough for Washington to release him, so he appears to be locked in for the long run. Hopefully, for his sake, things start to come around sooner rather than later for the Commanders.
