Josh Allen Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen (17) throws against the New York Jets during the first half of the home opener at MetLife Stadium on Monday, Sept. 11, 2023, in East Rutherford.

The Buffalo Bills suffered a pretty brutal loss on Monday night as a late illegal substitution penalty from the Bills allowed the Denver Broncos a second chance at a game-winning field goal. But Bills quarterback Josh Allen isn’t blaming the loss on that moment, but all the moments that came before it.

During his press conference after the game, Josh Allen made it clear that “a lot of bad football” was to blame for the loss, not just the illegal substitution at the end of the game.

“It sucks. Shouldn’t have been in that position in the first place. A lot of bad football. A lot of bad football,” Allen said.

With the loss, the Buffalo Bills now fall to 5-5 and are losing ground in the playoff race. Allen knows this, and is starting to feel the urgency to get things turned around before it’s too late.

“I’m still confident, but it’s no secret the clock’s ticking. We’ve got to have some urgency now,” Allen said.

The Bills will have a chance to get things turned around this week against the New York Jets in a game that it feels like the team has to win to. We’ll see how they perform.
