So far this season, Joshua Dobbs has served as the starting quarterback of the Arizona Cardinals with star quarterback Kyler Murray on the Physically Unable to Perform list. But at some point, Murray is going to return, and it sounds like Dobbs is already preparing himself to take on whatever role that leaves him with.

During a press conference this week, Joshua Dobbs made it clear that his approach once Kyler Murray returns to the team is to simply “control what I can control.”

“I stay true to me,” Dobbs said according to the team website. “I’m excited to see Kyler come back. I have watched his game from afar for a while. It’s cool to meet him and be in the same room as him and be around him. When [the return] happens, I control what I can control and absorb whatever role that puts me in and go from there. It’ll be OK. I’ll manage it, he’ll manage it, we’ll be fine.”

Dobbs led the team to their first victory of the season last week as the Cardinals beat the Dallas Cowboys by a score of 28-16. Regardless of what the future holds for Dobbs, he’ll still be the team’s starter for a few more weeks and it sounds like he intends to make the most of it.
