So far this year, Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields is having a breakout season, posting multiple different record-breaking performances and wowing with some absolutely incredible highlight plays. And while he’s surely happy about his success, he’s not exactly pleased with the way his games are officiated.

While the NFL has made it quite clear that they intend to protect the league’s quarterbacks with the controversial roughing the passer penalties, Justin Fields doesn’t feel like the NFL referees are doing enough to protect him on the field, saying that he’s “just going to beg for a call” from now on.

“It’s just been too many times where I feel like I’ve gotten hit late and there’s been no flag,” Fields said, according to Chicago Bears reporter Chris Emma of The Score. “I’m just going to beg for a call and hope I get one in the near future.”

Justin Fields has been hit more than most quarterbacks in the league this season. In addition to his 143 rushing attempts, the Chicago Bears have also given up 48 sacks this year, which is the fourth-most of any team in the NFL.

Needless to say, it’s understandable why Fields is seeking all the protection he can get.
