The Cleveland Browns suddenly found themselves in dire need of help at the running back position this week after superstar running back Nick Chubb suffered a brutal knee injury that will keep him out for the rest of the season. And the Browns are turning to a familiar face to help solve their concerns at the running back position.
According to a report from NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Cleveland Browns are bringing back longtime running back Kareem Hunt to help replace Chubb, signing the veteran running back to a one-year deal.
“An official reunion: Former Browns’ RB Kareem Hunt is re-signing a one-year deal with Cleveland worth up to $4 million, per source. Hunt now will try to help fill the void with Nick Chubb’s season-ending knee injury,” Schefter said in a tweet.

It’s pretty major news for the Cleveland Browns and the NFL world as a whole, and people had plenty to say about the move on social media as a result.
Kareem Hunt visited New Orleans and Indianapolis, only to wind up back in the same city with the same team on which he spent the past four seasons. https://t.co/6i3pdxySsa

Kareem Hunt was waiting for the right "opportunity." He signed for "Up to $4 mil," but we can assume that is massively inflated by incentives. Tried out for a pair of RB-needy teams who passed. Don't get swept up in the Hunt hype today. He was on the street for a reason. https://t.co/NfQoDQ1Xcz

This is the most logical thing the Browns have done https://t.co/REgg7gsLJq

I was curious about the dollar amount, that doesn't sound like starter money
I think Jerome Ford should get the lead carries and sounds like he will #Browns https://t.co/EhMYHpKtaX

Jerome Ford is the RB in Cleveland that you want
Hunt is the breather back allowing Ford to catch his breath. Hunt had a career low 3.8 YPC last year
He is here because of familiarity within the offense https://t.co/SaU61dJBIS

Expected: I say Kareem Hunt plays on Sunday. https://t.co/u32PSV2Crr

Losing Chubb is undeniably a massive blow for the Browns as he is the focal point of the team’s offense. But they’ll obviously hope that Hunt can provide a spark and some familiarity that could help replace him.
