As the NFL trade deadline fast approaches, it’s clear that the New York Giants could be in a position to unload assets and begin another rebuilding process as the team currently sits with a 2-5 record and a very difficult path to a potential playoff appearance. But one Giants star doesn’t want to see the team trade away players at the trade deadline.
During an interview this week, New York Giants star pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux made it clear that he doesn’t think the team should unload any of their talent ahead of the trade deadline, saying he thinks the team has “the right pieces.”
“I think we have the right pieces — we just have to put them together,” Thibodeaux said according to Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post. “I think things are working in the right direction, so I’ll leave it up to the coaching staff and whoever else to make those decisions. But I’m excited by what we have.”
While it’s understandable that Kayvon Thibodeaux might have this opinion, the reality is that this could quickly turn into a lost season for the Giants and this will be their chance to acquire future talent.
We’ll have to see what the team chooses to do.
