During Sunday night’s win over the Los Angeles Rams, the Seattle Seahawks lost rookie running back Kenneth Walker III to an apparent leg injury. But it appears that he could still be available to play for the team during its Week 14 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

During his press conference on Monday afternoon, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll clarified that the injury to Kenneth Walker III was a strain in his foot and not an ankle sprain, calling the injury “unusual.”

“Carroll said Kenneth Walker III has a strain in his foot, not an ankle sprain. Called it “unusual” and he’s never heard of something like this before. Said it’s an inflammation issue. Next step is trying to manage it this week in practice and he can possibly play next week,” Brandon Gustafson

Walker was selected by the Seahawks with the No. 41 selection in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft and has emerged as one of the top running backs on the roster this season. So far this year, the former Michigan State Spartans star has 138 carries for 649 yards and nine touchdowns. Before his injury on Sunday afternoon, Walker was having quite a successful day, totaling 36 rushing yards on just three carries in the first half.
