Pittsburgh Steelers starting quarterback Kenny Pickett has missed the past three games for the team with an ankle injury, but it sounds like he’s nearing a potential return.

During a press conference this week, Kenny Pickett gave an update on his status, saying that he while he “feels good” and that he is “trying to come back as soon as possible,” the final decision regarding his status will come from the coaching staff.

“It feels good,” Pickett said  of his ankle according to the Pittsburgh Steelers team website. “I am going to take it a day at a time, see what the coaches are saying, what the trainers are saying. They have a plan for me, I am just going about what they are telling me. It feels like I am on track with what I need to do. It’s not how I feel, it’s what they see me doing and how they feel like I am looking moving around.”

Mason Rudolph performed well in Pickett’s place on Saturday, leading the team to victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. If Pickett still is not ready to play this week, Rudolph will again lead the team against the Seattle Seahawks as the Steelers fight to keep their playoff hopes alive.
