A star running back out of Auburn, Kerryon Johnson was selected by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Johnson garnered 641 yards and three touchdowns in his rookie season before a knee injury ended things prematurely. He played two more years for the franchise before he was waived in 2021.

A 2019 knee surgery and other injuries played a big role in Johnson’s career not taking off and he’s been unable to get situated with any other NFL team since then.

Earlier this week, Johnson was answering questions on Twitter and he was asked why he hadn’t been back on the field in the NFL since 2021.

Without naming him, he put the blame on then-Lions head coach

“How come u never went back to playing?” one fan asked.

“Because playing for a military general left me down 2 knees and a neck,” Johnson replied.

Patricia was the head coach in 2018-2020 when Johnson was there and suffered his injuries.

The former Auburn running back now joins several other NFL players who have openly criticized Patricia for the way he worked with players during his three-year stint in Detroit.

Patricia is now back with the New England Patriots as an assistant but there are rumors that he could be in the running for another head coaching job. One wonders if owners are taking into account the ways that players talk about him.
