So far this NFL season, the Cleveland Browns have had one of the most dominant defenses in the entire league, but head coach Kevin Stefanski seems to think the team could even play better on that side of the ball.

During a recent press conference, head coach Kevin Stefanski acknowledged that the team is playing very well according to the stats, he still sees “room for improvement.”

“Yeah, obviously, you look at some of this, you look at some of the stats,” Stefanski said in a transcript from the team acquired by Pro Football Talk. “We’re playing good defense. We’re playing sound defense, but there’s room for improvement. And I think those are some of the things that we talked about this morning.

“There are definitely things that we can continue to do better. I know coach Schwartz and the defensive staff are not concerned at all about statistics. We’re not. That’s just not how we operate. We’re concerned with playing good football, playing sound defense, and we’re not chasing any type of stats.”

The strong defensive performance is a big reason why the team currently has a 3-2 record through the first six weeks of the season, so we’ll have to see if they can keep that dominance going throughout the year. If the Browns can even improve upon what they’ve shown so far this year, as Stefanski suggests, they could have the best defense in the league.
