As the 2023 NFL season winds down, there’s a pretty clear runaway favorite to win the NFL’s Coach of the Year award at the end of the season: Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski.
The Cleveland Browns have overcome a lot this season with several key players suffering major season-ending injuries including star running back Nick Chubb and starting quarterback Deshaun Watson. But under Stefanski’s leadership, the team has clinched a spot in the playoffs, earning the No. 5 seed in the AFC despite all of the turmoil this season.
As a result, Stefanski is the runaway favorite to win the league’s Coach of the Year Award, based on the current odds from SportsBetting.ag.
Currently, Stefanski has -900 odds to win the award, ahead of Houston Texans first-year head coach DeMeco Ryans and Indianapolis Colts first-year head coach Shane Steichen, who both have +950 odds, which is obviously a distant second place.
Based on these odds, Stefanski has an implied probability of 90 percent to take home the Coach of the Year award with just a 10 percent chance that it could go to anybody else.
So when the award is announced next month, it is fully expected that Stefanski will be the league’s selection.
