The odds of the Average Joe becoming a starting NFL kicker are extremely rare, as most teams typically only have one kicker on their roster at any given time. The odds of two brothers both becoming NFL kickers are practically zero, yet the Carlson brothers defied the odds and are headed for a very cool milestone on Monday Night Football.

Las Vegas Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson and Green Bay Packers kicker Anders Carlson are set to face off on Monday night when the two teams meet.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Carlson brothers are set to be the first pair of brothers since 1987 to kick in the same NFL game against one another. Chris and Matt Bahr were the last pair of brothers to do so when the Los Angeles Raiders played the Cleveland Browns.

Siblings across the world could only dream of doing what the Carlson brothers are set to do. Fans took notice of this awesome milestone and praised both for making their dreams become a reality.

Daniel Carlson spoke about the milestone before the game, where he detailed that he will need to maintain his focus for the game, while also taking time to take in the moment with his brother.

“There’s going to be a balance of, ‘Hey, I got a game to get ready for,'” Carlson told John Breech of CBS Sports. “But I want to be conscious of taking some moments out and appreciating, ‘Hey, we’ve both worked really hard. This has been our dream for a while. To see it come to fruition and get to play against each other is really special.'”
