Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins often finds himself in an enviable spot. The veteran gunslinger is often too good to be “overlooked” as a quality quarterback but hasn’t ever been “good enough” to get his teams through. Many don’t consider him to be an elite quarterback. Evidently, that group also includes star receiver Justin Jefferson.
Jefferson recently listed his Top 5 NFL quarterbacks. The list looked exactly like how you think it would, but it had one notable omission: His own QB.
The star receiver’s list included Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts, and Josh Allen. But there was no sign of Cousins (and no Lamar Jackson either).

While Jefferson’s omission of Cousins probably wasn’t mean-spirited, it’s a brutal reminder for Cousins on where he stands. And to a degree, it’s justifiable.
Since the former Michigan State signal-caller entered the NFL, neither Washington nor Minnesota has made it to the NFC Conference Championship Game. Kirk Cousins has made it to the NFC Divisional Round before, but his teams have slipped. “QB wins” might be an archaic thing, but the one thing the top quarterbacks have over the others is those playoff victories. Some of them have way more than others.
But with that being said, jokes flew, and dozens reacted to Justin Jefferson’s Top 5. Including some notable faces and division rivals.

Jefferson has to put Kirk in the 5 spot here. I don’t care if your starter is JaMarcus Russell, wideouts gotta ride with their guy. Tough look https://t.co/hQBHwRSA2V

It’s his opinion. Should be a wake-up call for Kirk. https://t.co/wcuHOFVTh7

Thats because no one believes Kirk is a top 5 QB in the NFL either. Everyone knows he'd just be lying, so what's the point? Lol https://t.co/2a5KDIbZtQ
