As the 2023 NFL season enters its final stages and the postseason nears, teams and players alike have started to envision how it would feel to win the Super Bowl.

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill is all too familiar with this feeling, having won Super Bowl LIV with the Kansas City Chiefs.

When Hill recently said that the current Dolphins team is better than the Chiefs team was, it turned a lot of heads. While the Dolphins are tied for the AFC’s best record with the Baltimore Ravens, fans and media have criticized Miami for not having a win over a team with a winning record this season.

NBC Sports’ Lawrence Jackson Jr. joined Jessica Kleinschmidt on the Short and to the Point podcast this week and discussed Hill’s comments and the criticisms of Miami, among other things.

“It’s tough because they [Kansas City] actually won the Super Bowl,” Jackson said. “He plays for the Dolphins so he’s gotta say that, but I think they’re more of a Super Bowl contender than what people want to believe. This season they haven’t beat any teams with a winning record, every loss they have is to a team with a winning record. So I think people are like ‘Oh, they’re just a flash in the pan.’ I don’t think the Dolphins are as good as that Chiefs team, but I do think they’re contenders, more than people want to believe,” he said.

With the Dallas Cowboys, Baltimore Ravens, and Buffalo Bills all still on Miami’s schedule, the Dolphins will still have plenty of opportunities to prove themselves before the regular season ends.
