Super Bowl LVIII is expected to be an extremely close matchup, with many extremely torn on whether they are picking the Kansas City Chiefs or the San Francisco 49ers to win. However, former Chiefs running back LeSean McCoy is very convinced he knows who will win the matchup, even claiming to put his money where his mouth is.

McCoy appeared on the Up & Adams show on Friday to discuss the betting line for the matchup, which currently has the Chiefs as 2.5-point underdogs in the matchup.

The six-time Pro Bowler admitted in his breakdown that the 49ers are the better team in this matchup, but that you simply cannot bet against Patrick Mahomes, which is why he is claiming to be placing $100,000 on the Chiefs to win the game.

“I’m gonna say the same thing I’ve been telling everybody for the last three weeks,” said McCoy. “The Bills should beat the Chiefs. The Ravens should beat the Chiefs. The Niners should beat the Chiefs. All better teams. But you never bet against Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. In this era, you never bet against Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes. I’m putting $100,000 grand on it. The last three Super Bowls I have hit.”

When you look at McCoy’s tenure in the NFL, it’s not exactly a shock that McCoy thinks that the Chiefs are going to win this matchup.

Not only did McCoy win a Super Bowl with the Chiefs in 2019. But he also spent the first four years of his NFL career with Andy Reid while the two were with the Philadelphia Eagles.

This could obviously mean that McCoy is picking this game with a bit of a bias due to his ties to Reid and the Chiefs. But it could also mean that McCoy is picking the Chiefs because he has insight into just how great the Chiefs organization, and more importantly Patrick Mahomes is.

Only time will tell whether McCoy’s prediction will be a correct one. But he sure does seem confident that the Chiefs will be back-to-back Super Bowl champions.
