The Detroit Lions have not hosted a home playoff game in 30 years, but that’s set to change this week when the team plays host to the Los Angeles Rams at Ford Field on Sunday night. It sets up a reunion of sorts for former Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford on a big stage in front of what will be a wild crowd. But it sounds like he’s ready for it.

During a press conference this week, Matthew Stafford opened up about taking on his former team in what will be such a high-stakes game in front of a massive and wild crowd. He didn’t shy away from admitting that it will be a challenge, but it sounds like he’s ready for it.

“I know it’s going to be rocking there,” Stafford said according to Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com. “Haven’t had a playoff game there about 30 years or whatever it is. So it’ll be a great atmosphere. It’ll be a tough task for us, but definitely excited.”

This will be the first time that Stafford has played in Ford Field since he was traded to the Los Angeles Rams a few years ago. We’ll have to see how he performs in such an important game.
