Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is seen by most as one of the greatest coaches in NFL history. Most however consider the very best to be New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. Former NFL quarterback Michael Vick made the case for Reid being a slightly better coach than Belichick.

Vick played for a number of teams over his illustrious career. One of them was with the Philadelphia Eagles under Reid from 2009-2012.

Both Reid and Belichick are obviously great at what they do, but Vick gave Reid the edge for his prolonged success across two different franchises.

“I was actually thinking this year like, after Andy won the Super Bowl, he only got two, but he went to like four or five NFC Championship Games every year y’all was in the AFC Championship Game,” Vick said on Tyreek Hill’s It Needed To Be Said Podcast. “He might be the greatest coach of all time. You don’t have to win championships to be considered. You know, I understand Belichick and Brady and that whole dynamic. But coach Reid did it in Philly, and then he doing it in KC. I’m always shout out coach like I love that man to death; like for real literally I do anything for him.”

Vick says himself that he loves Andy Reid, so it is likely somewhat of a biased stance from him. That being said, there is certainly a growing argument there for Reid to stake a claim in that discussion.

Reid ranks fifth in coaching wins in NFL history, slightly behind Bill Belichick, who sits in third place. However, Reid’s sustained success on two different teams is certainly impressive, and is one element that may be slightly more impressive than Belichick’s run in New England.
