Since he was selected with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans has consistently been one of the top wide receivers in the entire league. But if you ask him, he’s not just one of the best – he is the best.

During a recent interview with ESPN, Mike Evans made it clear that if he has to pick himself or any other wide receiver in the NFL, he’s choosing himself over anybody else.

“I know where I’m at,” Evans told ESPN. “My opinion matters more than anybody else because I watch all of these guys, and there are a lot of [freaking] great players. But I’ll take myself over anybody. If people were in my situation, there’s only 5-10 guys in history who have done what I’ve done. It’s been a battle, but I enjoy it.”

It’s a pretty bold message, but Evans has certainly backed it up with his play on the field ever since he entered the league. He’s had nine consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons – every season he’s been in the league – and he’s made it clear that he wants to break Jerry Rice’s record of 11.

We’ll have to see if Evans can continue that dominance this season.
