Sunday saw yet another NFL starting quarterback go out with a major injury; this time, it was Minnesota Vikings Pro Bowler Kirk Cousins. Cousins went out late in the game against the Green Bay Packers, and many are speculating that, like Aaron Rodgers, it may be an Achilles injury.

Like Rodgers’s injury, it is unofficially confirmed, but all indication is that Cousins’s season may be over, and so may the Vikings’ season. Adam Schefter noted that the “team fears QB Kirk Cousins suffered an Achilles injury today” and that the quarterback will undergo further testing.

At the time, Cousins was trying to step up in the pocket on a third and long in the fourth quarter. After being tackled, he hobbled off the field without putting any weight on his right leg. He was evaluated in the medical tent and then carted off the field.

The Vikings did go on to win 24-10 over rival Green Bay to improve to 4-4.

But now the question is, is this it for Cousins not only in a Vikings uniform, but this might be career-ending as well? Kirk is 35 years old and a free agent next year if he decides to come back and play. Rumors were circulating that teams like the New York Jets were interested in trading for him. But obviously, a catastrophic injury like this would change things completely.

Now, it’s the Vikings who may be looking for a starter if, indeed, Cousins is out for the season.
