Whether or not it’ll actually happen remains to be seen, but Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins has seen his name constantly involved in trade chatter, mainly when it comes to the New York Jets. While Cousins had a no-trade clause in his contract, he’s in the last year of his contract with Minnesota, and the Vikings are currently 1-4.

While Minnesota could certainly turn things around, recently going toe-to-toe with the reigning Super Bowl champions, the team placed Justin Jefferson (hamstring) on injured reserve Wednesday. With that, that’s sparked more conversation on the Cousins trade front.

Cousins was asked Wednesday, as the news that Jefferson would miss at least four games became official if he could envision a time when he would waive his no-trade clause. The NFL’s trade deadline is Oct. 31 and in order to be traded, Cousins would have to facilitate the deal with another team.

Instead of commenting on that, Cousins said that he’s focused on playing the Chicago Bears in Week 6.

“You know I am just very focused on the Bears and going 1-0 this week, and anything else is not worth my time or energy or attention,” Cousins said, via Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com.

Through five games this season, Cousins has completed 67.2 percent of his passes for 1,498 yards with 13 touchdowns against four interceptions. While injuries will almost certainly play a part in any trade discussions, all eyes will be on the Vikings and presumably how Zach Wilson performs against the Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday, as Minnesota looks to navigate its future potentially beyond that of Cousins.
