The Pittsburgh Steelers have struggled mightily under offensive coordinator Matt Canada, but Steelers star running back Najee Harris doesn’t seem to think the problems with the team are a result of coaching. Instead, it sounds like he’s blaming the players.

During an interview session this week, Najee Harris made it clear that he thinks the issues with the offense are due to a lack of execution from the players, saying “it has nothing to do with coaches.”

“Coaches can only coach. We’ve got to execute the plays,” Harris said, via Joe Rutter of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “We’re not trying to point the finger at all. This is not the time to do that. It keeps being a conversation brought up, things that are talked about so much. I can honestly say we’re not doing it. It’s not the coaches. It has nothing to do with coaches. We have to play better. We can’t just keep looking at the coaches as an outlet or whatever is putting out there. . . . It’s stupid.”

Mike Tomlin announced this week that there would be no changes to the coaching staff “at this juncture.” So even if the problem was the coaching, we’re not going to see any changes.
