The New Orleans Saints had a chance to take a huge step toward clinching a playoff spot on Thursday night against the Los Angeles Rams, but they missed the opportunity, falling 30-22, bringing their season record to 7-8, and putting their playoff hopes on life support.

The playoff situation is looking pretty bleak for the Saints after the loss, and after the game, veteran defensive end Cameron Jordan got pretty blunt when discussing the season, admitting that it’s been a frustrating season.

“We are who we are,” Jordan said according to Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com. “There’s two games left. There’s no sugarcoating this [stuff]. It’s frustrating to be in this position. I’m not sure the probabilities of whatever it is now, we just have to win out. At the end of the day there’s no excuses, we just have to win out.”

He’s right in that the Saints do still have a slim chance to make the postseason, but they will certainly have to win out in their final two games against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Atlanta Falcons, and they’ll need to get some help from some other teams along the way as well.

We’ll have to see what happens.
