New York Giants star Saquon Barkley has long been known to be one of the best running backs in the NFL. However, if he ever decides to step away from football, he may want to take up a career as a relationship counselor after a hilarious moment at training camp on Thursday.

Giants fans were certainly excited to see Barkley since his presence at training camp wasn’t exactly a given. He had been in the midst of a long negotiation period with the Giants over a new contract before signing a one-year deal with New York on Monday.

One fan, in particular, was happy to see Barkley, as he brought a sign along that shared a hilarious message about his ex-girlfriend.

“Saquon my ex will take me back if you sign this.”

Naturally, Barkley spotted the fan and signed the sign after practice finished up on Thursday. This lucky Giants fan also got a picture with Barkley and got his jersey (a No. 26 Barkley jersey) signed by him.

This whole moment certainly could have been a ploy by the fan in order to get Barkley to sign his sign. Regardless, fans on social media took notice of this funny interaction and hope the fan’s relationship works out.

While Barkley may not have gotten the long-term contract that he was hoping for this offseason, it is very clear that he is a fan favorite amongst Giants fans — and apparently this fan’s former significant other.
