The New York Jets offensive line was quite offensive in Monday night’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
Sure, Zach Wilson deserves some blame, as the young quarterback still has an issue of holding onto the football and taking backbreaking sacks, but his offensive line provided him zero help in the 27-6 loss.
Now, it appears that a team that’s already lost Duane Brown, Alijah Vera-Tucker, Connor McGovern, and Wes Schweitzer to injury, may have to make do without another key offensive lineman.
On Wednesday, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported that Billy Turner, who started at right tackle in Week 9, suffered a broken bone in his hand and his status is up in the air for this week’s primetime matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Another question on the #Jets offensive line: Sources say OL Billy Turner suffered a broken bone in his hand and his status is up in the air for this week. Coach Robert Saleh described the injury as "concerning." But he hasn’t been ruled out yet.

In speaking to reporters, head coach Robert Saleh described the injury as “concerning,” but New York has yet to rule out Turner for Sunday’s game.
According to The Athletic’s Zack Rosenblatt, Turner allowed nine pressures, three sacks, and two quarterback hits going up against a Los Angeles Chargers defensive line that features Joey Bosa, Khalil Mack, and Tuli Tuipulotu.
If Turner is unable to play Sunday, the Jets could push Max Mitchell back outside to tackle and insert Xavier Newman at right guard. New York could also play veteran offensive tackle Dennis Kelly — formerly of the Tennessee Titans and Philadelphia Eagles — in Turner’s place.
This is the second season in a row that New York has faced debilitating injuries to its offensive line, and perhaps it could derail another season at that.
