The New York Jets may have been forced into participating in this year’s edition of HBO’s Hard Knocks documentary series, following the team through their training camp before the start of the 2023 NFL Season. But don’t expect the Jets to allow too much access to the NFL Films cameras.
During a recent appearance on Monday’s episode of ESPN’s “Get Up,” NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported that the New York Jets will not give Hard Knocks the same access that the show usually gets when it follows a team during training camp.
For example, the team will not allow NFL Films to put cameras inside the rooms when coach Robert Saleh and General Manager Joe Douglas are cutting players.
“Hard Knocks will not be the same. They’re not going to be given the same access,” Schefter said on the show according to Front Office Sports. “The Jets don’t believe it’s humane to show players being released.”
It’s clear that this year’s edition will be one of the most-watched and highest-rated seasons of the Hard Knocks series with the addition of star quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the hype surrounding the team. Unfortunately, it sounds like it’s also going to be the one with the least access.
