It’s no real secret that the New York Jets have had one of the worst offenses in the entire league this season and in recent years, but one stat highlights just how unprecedentedly bad the team’s scoring offense has been the past five years.

As the social media account Football Perspective pointed out this week, the Jets have been so bad on the offensive side of the ball the past five seasons that they have actually made NFL history as a result.

“The Jets are going to be the first team in NFL history to rank 28th or worse in points scored in 5 straight seasons,” Football Perspective said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Obviously, this is not the kind of NFL history a team would like to make and it’s pretty horrible news for the Jets. As a result, people had a lot to say about it on social media.

The Jets will undoubtedly hope that this changes next season when quarterback Aaron Rodgers returns from his Achilles injury, but that still doesn’t excuse just how bad the team has been on the offensive side of the ball the past five years.
