Joe Flacco is saving the Cleveland Browns’ season this year after the team signed him when star quarterback Deshaun Watson went down with a season-ending injury. The New York Jets had a chance to do the same thing when Aaron Rodgers went down with a season-ending injury back in September, but they didn’t. And head coach Robert Saleh is claiming he doesn’t regret that decision.

The Jets could have signed Joe Flacco after Aaron Rodgers suffered his season-ending injury, especially considering Flacco played with the team the previous year. There’s a good chance that he would have been able to help carry the team to a few more wins considering the Jets’ absolutely dominant defense. But Saleh claims he will “never regret” the decision to not even talk to Flacco.

“We love Joe, first and foremost,” Saleh said according to Newsday. “We spent a couple of years with him, love him, love the way he prepares, really pumped for him and the success he’s having. It’s just the decision we made in terms of the quarterback room and the way we developed it over the course of OTAs and training camp. It was just a decision we made.”

The Browns are certainly pleased that the Jets didn’t sign him as he is helping lead them to the playoffs.
