The NFL world certainly took notice last week when legendary Future went out of his way to diss Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson, the husband of his ex-fiancée, pop icon Ciara.

In a new track titled “Turn Yo Clic Up,” featuring Quavo of the Migos, Future, 39, took a clear shot at the 34-year-old quarterback.

“I got it out the field / [expletive] Russell,” Future rapped.

Future and Ciara dated for several years and were engaged when they welcomed their son, Future Zahir, into the world in May 2014. But the couple split after allegations of Future’s infidelity.

Wilson, for his part, issued a subtle yet clear response to Future’s diss on Thursday, when he posted a picture of him and his stepson, Future Zahir, playing football together.

“Best part of the day #DadLife,” he captioned the photo fo the two walking on a football field together.

Wilson, in another video shared on his Instagram Story, praised the nine-year-old’s love of sports. The two discussed Future Zahir’s love of basketball, football and baseball. Future Zahir wants to excel in all three sports, with Wilson writing on top of the video, “If anyone can, you can!”

The NFL world was quick to react to the hilarious roast:

“Still can’t believe Future dissed you on a song while you’re over there raising his son. The audacity,” one fan wrote on the Instagram post.

“Yo people don’t see it but Wilson just as petty lol,” wrote one fan.

“You took to parenting like a pro and those three babies are lucky to have you and Ciara!” one fan wrote in support of Wilson.

“When they go low you go higher .. This is higher keep shining and keep being the best dad you can be,” wrote one fan.

“This the best distrack ever !! This photo,” wrote a fan.
