Green Bay Packers Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

The Green Bay Packers are off to a spirited 2-1 start this season. Quarterback Jordan Love has played well enough in his first three games as a starter, and everyone else has played their part. The team hasn’t seen star running back Aaron Jones since Week 2, though, and wide receiver Christian Watson has yet to debut. Both have dealt with injury issues this season, but both players received positive news on Tuesday.

Watson was limited at Packers’ practice, a potential sign that he’s on track to make his debut this weekend. Meanwhile, Jones figures to return to the lineup after comments receiver Romeo Doubs made. Pro Football Talk wrote that Doubs “told reporters that running back Aaron Jones will also return from his hamstring injury this week.”

A return for both Doubs and Jones could mean big things for Green Bay. The Packers already hold a strong lead in the division and a 1-0 record in divisional play. Sure enough, the Packers have a divisional game up next on the ledger. Green Bay plays the spry Detroit Lions, also 2-1, in a potentially crucial game.

That the Packers may be armed with their stars, and a full deck could be enough to swing the pendulum their way. But that’s why we play the games.

The NFL world had plenty to say on the positive Packers update.
