After signing a massive contract extension that made him the highest-paid defensive player in the league, Nick Bosa has yet to record a sack for the San Francisco 49ers through his first two games. But defensive coordinator Steve Wilks doesn’t sound all that worried about it.

The lack of dominance comes after Nick Bosa missed the entire offseason as he held out for a new contract. Steve Wilks acknowledged that Bosa might be a little bit rusty as a result, but he thinks it’s “only a matter of time” before he gets to the quarterback.

“I think you’d probably have to ask him and he’ll tell you he’s definitely not satisfied with where he is,” Wilks said in his Tuesday press conference according to Pro Football Talk. “But as a coach, understanding that he wasn’t here all offseason and to come in and take 32 snaps in the first game, I believe it was, and play last week. So, it’s going to come. You saw the effort there, you saw the push across the board with those guys. Again, Stafford was getting rid of the ball so fast so I think it’s only a time, only a matter of time.”

The 49ers take on the New York Giants this week, so we’ll have to see if Bosa can get a sack against Daniel Jones.
