During last week’s game against the Seattle Seahawks, Cincinnati Bengals star offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr. aggravated a groin injury in the first quarter and ultimately left the game in the third quarter as a result of the injury. But it sounds like he’s planning to play this week.

The Bengals had a bye week this weekend, allowing Orland Brown Jr. a little extra time to recover from his injury before the Bengals take on the San Francisco 49ers this week. And it sounds like that extra recovery time did Brown some good and he expects to play this week.

“I do (plan to play). I feel great with an extra week of rest,” Brown said this week according to the Cincinnati Bengals’ official team website. “This is just an extra day of rest for me.”

The Bengals – who have struggled to build a successful offensive line around star quarterback Joe Burrow throughout his career with the team – signed Brown this offseason to help bolster their offensive line.

So far this season, the Bengals offensive line is allowing 2.3 sacks per game, which is an improvement from the 2.8 sacks per game surrendered last year – and Brown has a lot to do with the improvement.
