The New York Giants have already made quite a splash this offseason with their large contract extension to star quarterback Daniel Jones, and now it looks like they’re making a free agent move to surround him with some offensive firepower.

On Thursday afternoon, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz of The Score reported that the team is signing former Ohio State Buckeyes star wide receiver Parris Campbell to a free-agent deal.

“Breaking: FA WR Parris Campbell is signing with the #Giants, source tells @theScore. The former Buckeye star comes off a career-best 62/623/3 with the #Colts last season, adding 2 rushing TDs as well,” Schultz said in a tweet.

While Campbell is off to a slow start to his NFL career as he’s dealt with several injuries, he had quite a stellar career with the Ohio State Buckeyes. During his final season with the Buckeyes, he broke the school’s single-season record for receptions with 90 catches for 1,063 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2018.

He also had quite an impressive showing that the NFL combine ahead of the 2019 NFL Draft, blazing a 4.31-second 40-yard dash to showcase the electric playmaking ability he boasts.

As a result of his stellar college career and performance at the combine, Campbell was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the second round of the 2019 draft.
