Former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning is hosting the Country Music Awards on Wednesday night. And it didn’t take long for him to tie football into his hosting responsibilities, hilariously roasting the New York Jets.
Manning, alongside co-host and country music star Luke Bryan, opened up the show with several quick-witted jokes. One of which came at the Jets’ expense.
“Do you know the difference between Taylor Swift and the New York Jets?,” said Manning.
“Taylor (Swift) can sell out a stadium,” said Luke Bryan.
“You nailed it,” Manning added.

The Jets didn’t exactly take this shot at their fanbase kindly, responding to Manning on social media.
“What are we talking about Peyton,” tweeted the New York Jets along with a picture of their stadium in their season-opening game this season.

Jets fans followed suit, blasting Manning for his joke about the organization.
Dude set us back 10 years by telling us to hire Gase. With all due respect Peyton, we don't value your opinion anymore

This joke could’ve been made about sooooo many different teams with no real fan base…. But nope, let’s just say the Jets because hahaha

Yea this sucks but listen. Jets are the punch line of the league, have been for some time now. Just the way it is.
And until we get an owner that’s cares about that, we’re all gunna have to get some thick skin.

Listen, there are a lot of jokes to be made about the Jets organization. The team hasn’t made the postseason since 2010, and third-year quarterback Zach Wilson has largely been a disaster under center this season after the injury to Aaron Rodgers.
However, they do have one thing going in their favor this season. Their fanbase is incredibly loyal, and they do show up to each and every home game.
Thus far this season, the Jets average 80,631 fans at their home games. That ranks third in the NFL, only behind the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants.
Regardless, it was a pretty funny joke from Manning in the heat of the moment. But that doesn’t make it the most accurate one…
